The Emperor's Secret

Ålesund, 1904. In the middle of the night a violent fire breaks out in the city. The flames spread quickly between the wooden houses, and large parts of Ålesund are destroyed within a few hours. While the townspeople fight to save the city, something strange happens. Emperor Wilhelm II of Germany sends relief ships to Ålesund almost immediately. Officially he comes to help the city with food, medicine and materials for the rebuilding. But more than 100 years later, a mysterious discovery is made in an old Jugend building in the centre. A hidden suitcase. Inside the suitcase are old letters, a map of Ålesund and notes from the historian Elias Winter, who vanished without a trace in 1931 while investigating the city fire. In the notes, Elias claims the emperor did not come to Ålesund merely to help. He believes Wilhelm II was searching for something that survived the flames. Now you must follow Elias's trail through the centre of Ålesund. Along the way you must explore the city, find hidden details in your surroundings and solve riddles connected to the city fire, the Jugend town and the emperor's secret visit. For every correct answer you receive one letter. In the end the letters must be put together into a secret code that reveals the truth Elias never got to tell.
